Claire Hough, CEO of Getlabs

Getlabs, the U.S. leader in at home diagnostic services, has elevated Claire Hough, its former Chief Product & Technology Officer, to the role of Chief Executive Officer. The move brings over 20 years of tech leadership to the helm, aiming to turbocharge Getlabs’ expansion and innovation.

In her previous role, Hough supervised product, design, engineering, security, and platform strategy, successfully scaling Getlabs’ tech backbone. Before stepping into the C-suite, she played pivotal roles at major Silicon Valley companies including Carbon Health, Udemy, Netscape, Napster, and Nextag.

Her tech acumen has been recognized on the Forbes CIO Next List, spotlighting 50 transformative tech leaders shaping business futures.

Independent board member Demetri Karagas, CEO of Thirty Madison, highlighted Hough’s rare mix of strategic vision, operational rigor, and deep technical expertise essential for scaling Getlabs’ mission to bring diagnostics into homes nationwide.

Investor and board chair Matt Bettonville of Yosemite echoed the sentiment, noting Hough’s role in advancing Getlabs’ core purpose: expanding access to diagnostic testing and elevating patient experience.

Hough’s influence extends far beyond Getlabs. She actively mentors rising tech leaders through initiatives like Plato, Persistence, and First Round Capital, and supports underrepresented founders as an LP with Operator Collective.

Her leadership style reflects a dual focus: internal team development and external impact. At Getlabs, this translates into deepening partnerships in healthcare, enhancing patient-centric experiences, and accelerating development of innovative at-home diagnostic solutions.

As CEO, Hough is expected to steer Getlabs into its next phase, sharpening its healthcare collaborations, refining the user journey, and introducing more advanced at-home diagnostics. The company, which has grown rapidly since its 2018 launch and raised significant capital, including a $20 million Series A led by Emerson Collective, aims to build a seamless infrastructure supporting telehealth expansion.

Getlabs’ decision reflects a broader tech-healthcare trend: putting engineering driven operators at the top to scale innovation. With Hough, an engineer-turned-operator at the helm, the company is poised to deepen its reach and capabilities, cementing its place in the evolving telehealth ecosystem.
