The Farmer’s Dog, the fast growing direct to consumer pet food startup known for its human grade meals tailored for dogs, has opened a new office in Boca Raton, Florida, marking a notable expansion outside its New York headquarters.
Co-founder and Lynn University alumnus Brett Podolsky (Class of 2011) returned to his college town for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 17, joined by Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer and the city’s economic development team. The event, complete with an orange ribbon and a few canine companions, signaled the company’s intent to plant deep roots in South Florida.
We’re thrilled to welcome The Farmer’s Dog to our business community. With plans to bring 150 workers and more to our city, we look forward to your growth and success in Boca Raton.
said Scott Singer, Boca Raton Mayor in a public post.
The company’s new office spans the entire ground floor, nearly 19,500 square feet at the Meridian Center of Boca Raton.
The expansion is part of The Farmer’s Dog’s national growth strategy as demand for premium pet nutrition continues to rise. The startup, which has raised over $100 million from investors including Insight Partners and Shasta Ventures, has become a household name among pet owners for its fresh, vet-developed dog food delivered via subscription.
Boca Raton’s growing reputation as a hub for health, wellness, and pet-related innovation, along with access to tech talent and a pro-business city government, made it an attractive choice for the company’s next operational base.
The Farmer’s Dog’s move also underscores the broader trend of high-growth consumer startups establishing regional offices in South Florida, lured by lifestyle appeal, cost advantages, and access to Latin American and southeastern U.S. markets.
